MEMBERS EVENING 2013

75 members and guests attended the inaugural members evening held in Bourne on November 16th 2013 coming from many parts of the United Kingdom as well as Holland and France.

BRM films from the Rubery Owen Archive were played throughout the evening, complimented by an exhibition of over 120 BRM photographs. Hein de Groot brought along 18 (Lever-Arch) Volumes of his BRM archive which made fascinating reading.

The main part of the evening was 'The Team of 62', 1962 Team Mechanics Pat Carvath, Dick Salmon & John Sismey in conversation with Association Journal editor David Brown, who spent a over an hour on stage reflecting on that memorable season which began with Sir Alfred Owen issuing an ultimatum for the team to win at least two races during the season otherwise he would consider closing them down and culminated in the team winning the Constructors World Championship and their driver Graham Hill winning the drivers title
