On its debut appearance for the type at Snetterton in very cold and wet conditions, while in a comfortable lead on lap 6 Graham Hill ran through an ever-deepening puddle and aquaplaned into an earth bank. The car was declared a write-off but fortunately Graham Hill escaped without injury. The bent and stripped tub of was to spend its next years as a decoration on the wall of a club in Birmingham. Years later it was retrieved and rebuilt.
